Based on our history, experience and philosophy, the YMCA-YWCA of Winnipeg offers a variety of child care services designed to meet the needs of the community.

Our child care professionals value your children and our program enhances individual development of the "whole" child.

Dedicated to quality service, our focus is on the family and the importance of providing a stimulating, nurturing and secure environment.

The YMCA-YWCA provides high quality child care programs so parents feel comfortable leaving their children at our centres.

Parent evaluations, current research and over 25 years experience in delivering childcare programs assisted us in defining our quality checklist:

• Developmentally appropriate and stimulating activities are implemented by our Early Childhood Educators.
• Physical activities, including gym and swim are an important component of our programming.
• Outdoor activities take place in well equipped play areas.
• Equipment and toys are chosen to provide stimulation, interest and imagination.
• Children are taught the values of caring, honesty, and respectful and responsible behaviour towards all living things.
  

Children with additional support needs are included in our programs. We welcome our families to spend time at the centre with their children, participate in fundraisers, join our Parent Advisory Committees, share their expertise and talents or contribute to special events. Manitoba Child Day Care Subsidy is available at each licensed centre.

All child care facilities provide an environment filled with opportunities for learning. Our experienced Early Childhood Educators plan age-appropriate activities designed to enhance children's development.

The Online Child Care Registry makes it easier for families to find and apply for licensed child care in Manitoba.  It provides information about child care providers, lets you register with as many providers as you want in your neighbourhood and surrounding area, and places your child’s name on the waiting list of all the providers who meet your needs.
